Dowsing Connects Intuition with the Higher Self and Angel Guides

Dowsing connects me with my higher self’s intuition and that of my Angelic Guides to obtain information that I might not receive otherwise. I have always been fascinated by stories of the earliest recorded uses of dowsing in ancient Egypt, China, and Rome. In these civilizations, pendulums and other dowsing tools were used to locate water, minerals, and other resources and even to know where to build temples and places of worship.

Dowsing Improves Intuition in Decision Making

In The Essential Dowsing Guide, Dennis Wheatley describes dowsing as a sixth sense latent in all of us. He explains that most people aren’t aware of this sixth sense – which we refer to as intuition—but it can be developed. We are all intuitive! We just need to reprogram our brains to understand the intuitive messages we receive daily.

I use my pendulum dowsing for decision making and getting answers. Your higher self within your subconscious already knows the answer, and the pendulum is a tool that brings that answer to conscious awareness. Pendulum dowsing enhances Alternative Holistic Wellness practices like Reiki or Chakra Healing. We teach Reiki 2 class students how to use the pendulum to locate where people have energy blocks—where they need healing. You can also use the pendulum in your personal spiritual practice or as a tool for self-reflection and connection with Divine Universal knowledge.

The Webster Dictionary defines divination as “the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events of discover hidden knowledge”  or  “intuitive perception.”¹ This is a fancy term for using intuition to know things you wouldn’t ordinarily know.

Dowsing uses a pendulum as a tool to get answers to questions and connect us to universal knowledge. A pendulum is simply a weight suspended by a string or chain. What is important to remember is that the dowsing tools do not hold the “power.” A friend uses her locket as a pendulum, and while the tool you use should call to you, it does not need to be fancy or expensive to be effective. One of the great dowsers, Raymon Grace, uses a bullet hanging from a string as his pendulum. You and your connection with your guides is where the knowledge comes from.

Conscious vs. Subconscious Mind

Dowsing creates a communication link between your conscious mind and your subconscious. Your conscious mind houses the thoughts and ideas that you are aware of. For example, “I feel happy.” Your subconscious houses the thoughts and beliefs that you are not aware of below the surface. For example, if someone has a fear and dislike of cats that started after being scratched by a cat as a baby. That person may not understand where that fear originated from when it is based on a childhood experience.

How does Dowsing Improve Your Psychic Abilities and Energy Healer Skills?  

Your brain is a powerful energetic broadcaster and receiver of electromagnetic and other subtle energies, even if you are not aware of it. Your subconscious constantly communicates with the super conscious or Divine energies that you might call God, Allah, Source, Spirit, Higher Self, Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels, or Helpers.

In the 1980s, Dr Edith Jurka MD compare the brainwave frequency of dowsers with individuals in different mental states (i.e. sleeping, mediative, dreaming, waking). The finding showed that dowsers fell into a new category that correlated with being in a conscious state and meditative state at the same time.²  Your subconscious is in communication with your Guides, and when you are in a meditative state using dowsing, you bring that conversation to your conscious mind.

This brings us to the importance of meditation. When you place yourself in an alpha brain wave frequency, you greatly increase your intuitive powers and access the super consciousness grid. By ensuring you are in a meditative state prior to your dowsing practice you are better connected to your unconscious self and have clearer communication with your guides. The super consciousness responds instantly to sincere requests for help and information.

The quality of the messages you receive depends on the purity of your intent, mental clarity, and the quality of the questions. Once you learn to connect your conscious to your unconscious, your subconscious mind influences the direction of the pendulum through your subtle movements. During dowsing you must remain detached from the outcome. If you are too attached to the outcome of an answer, you are more likely to receive the wrong answer rather than the objective answers your guides are providing you with.

Dowsing ramps up your intuitive Reiki skills as an Intuitive Energy Healer

In practices such as Reiki or Energy Healing, practitioners use a pendulum to detect imbalances in the body’s energy fields, chakras, or energy centers of the body.  I have a client that uses a pendulum to support her Reiki practice to read clients’ chakras. She starts by saying, “Show me the size, shape and rotation of the crown chakra,” and the wider the swing, the more open the chakra is. She also sees the shape of the chakra to better clear and align it.

Every Radiant You Reiki 2 class student learns how to use her/his pendulum to scan chakras, but using a pendulum in addition to scanning the body helps new students to observe, listen to their intuition, and build their confidence. This is a great practice for raising intuitive awareness.
